IMA members across Asia Pacific mobilized mass actions across Aotearoa, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, and beyond—advancing militant, unified demands against both sending and host countries: real protection for migrant workers; a living wage; full and equal rights for all migrants regardless of status; an end to labor export programs; the creation of decent and living-wage jobs at home countries; and the exposure and dismantling of the structural roots of forced migration under neoliberal exploitation.

IMA Canada continues to amplify the organized resistance of migrant communities against Bill C-12—a reactionary policy that directly threatens the status and livelihoods of migrants and refugees currently in Canada. Despite presenting itself as a developed nation, Canada’s economy is fundamentally sustained by the super-exploitation of migrant labor, while systematically denying migrant workers their full rights and protections. The resounding calls of “Stop Bill C-12,” “No human being is illegal,” and “Nothing moves without migrants” reflect a growing militant movement exposing the hypocrisy of the Canadian state and its anti-migrant policies.

Migrants in the Middle East continue to endure systematic repression, denied the basic democratic right to organize and build their own independent organizations. The Kafala system, which continues to shackle migrant workers across the region, remains a brutal and deeply entrenched mechanism of exploitation and control. Yet despite these oppressive conditions, migrant workers persist in uniting and resisting, determined to fight collectively for the rights and dignity long denied to them. The Kafala system must be abolished—once and for all! Uphold and defend the full rights of migrant workers in the Middle East!

Some members of the IMA USA chapter came together not only to mark International Migrants Day as a day of struggle, but also to collectively celebrate Christmas in the spirit of solidarity and resistance. Alongside this, other members strengthened ties with allied organizations and local church groups by organizing joint forums.
