Migrant and refugee workers from the Global South continue to face immense barriers in accessing justice, protection, and support in host countries. Among the most urgent and shared threats they face globally is deportation—used by governments as a tool of control, repression, and silencing of workers’ voices.

This online forum will explore education trafficking from the perspective of a sending country (Indonesia) and receiving countries (Canada, Australia, Aotearoa). We invite everyone to attend this important forum to learn and raise awareness among our communities on this rapidly emerging form of human trafficking.

We will have an IMA Orientation webinar for organisations wanting to know more about us, and how to join our alliance. We will present IMA’s history, our work and our progress as an alliance. We will also share our constitution and by-laws, and discuss parts pertaining to members’ rights and responsibilities.

This online forum will present the current issues and challenges faced by seafarers and fishers, bring global solidarity to their grassroots-led campaigns, and strengthen IMA’s network of support for seafarers and fishers at ports around the world.
