Highlights of the 5GA
Keynotes
We have invited three speakers to discuss the international situation we are faced with, trends and prospects of migration under the multiple crises, and the continuing resistance of workers.
Issue discussions
A series of panel discussions will focus on economic and political discussions confronting the sector, ranging from economic struggles in both sending and host countries, climate migration, women migrants’ perspectives to specific concerns of migrant agricultural workers, the youth, and sea-based migrant workers.
Talk shows
Talk shows will delve into successes and challenges of migrant organizations in conducting homefront campaigns, solidarity campaigns and building cooperation with workers’ unions and organizations.
Side events
Side events are organized by IMA members to host discussions and activities outside the main program of the Global Assembly. Held at night.
Organizational discussions
Major highlight of the 5GA will be a series of organizational matters including acceptance of new members, reports from the chairperson and treasurer, regional reports of members, deliberation and approval of the General Program of Action for 2022-2025, and election of the International Coordinating Body.
Solidarity program
We will conclude the 5GA with performances and cultural presentations not only from invited guests but from our very own participants to the 5GA as well. Definitely, a fun, meaningful afternoon to remember.
